2) Wood veneer, which is a 3mm layer of natural solid hardwood (such as oak or walnut) on a MDF base. Wood veneer sheets can be sanded, oiled, varnished or even painted);
3) Modern melamine boards that mimic various wood finishes (and also come in solid colours).
